Solid Surface        

Acrylic solid surfaces are made of acrylic resin and natural materials. They can be shaped as desired and generally formed in one piece and can be manufactured with no visible seams or joins which adds to their appeal.  It’s non-porous surface gives exceptional stain and bacteria resistance.

This product is widely used for countertops in kitchens and laundries, vanity tops in bathrooms and used frequently in commercial projects such as banks, restaurants and healthcare.

One of the added benefits of acrylic is that it is fully repairable and renewable – meaning surfaces can be fully restored to their original condition if damaged or scratched and can be resurfaced to get rid of general wear and tear.

What is a ‘Solid Surface’? 

Solid surface is a man-made material usually composed of a combination of Alumina Trihydrate (ATH), 40% natural minerals, acrylic resins and pigments. It is most frequently used for seamless countertop installations.  

Where is Solid Surface/Acrylic best used? 

Residential properties, commercial environments, hospitality and food preparation areas and more.

It is more expensive than HPL? 

This is dependent on application and installation, but most of the time a solid surface is more expensive than HPL.
  

What is the lead time for a new benchtop?  

This can vary, but in general we operate on a 20 working day period for Solid Surface products from the date of order confirmation and site measure. 
  

How long does an Solid Surface take to install?  

Depending on complexity of the job and location, installation could take from 1 hour to 8 hours.  Very occasionally, we may have to visit the site on a second day to complete finishing details. 
  

Can I install it myself?  

No, generally certified fabricator/installer would need to install this surface.
